Treras is an ecologically-informed barn conversion, turning a mono pitched agricultural shed into a Cornish Earthship; a zero carbon dwelling rooted in its place.
Three elements were kept from the original building; the floor plan, the granite spine and external walls and the design of three doors in the front elevation.
Thereafter, everything was about producing a simple (but very well thought through) building requiring no imported energy to keep it afloat. It’s a self-sufficient home that is unmistakably located in West Cornwall. A granite and larch Earthship!
Treras won the Cornish Buildings Group ‘Building of the Year Award’ in 2022. Click here to read more.
