Lantinning Cottage is a Grade II listed thatched cottage in a magical creekside setting.
We designed a subservient extension using stag oak from the owners Scottish estate, reclaimed serpentine and granite stone. Cavity walls use unbaked earth cob blocks with a wattle and daub inner skin.
All the materials used were natural and pre-industrial but rethought for the 21st century with the exception of fire-resistant insulation and copper in the low-pitch roof.
